Tina Raymond
Tina Raymond is a drummer based in Los Angeles, CA. A unique voice in the Los Angeles contemporary improvised music scene, Raymond blends traditional jazz vocabulary with African polyrhythm and classical percussion technique.
She performs, adjudicates, and presents workshops world wide and has shared the stage with many jazz luminaries including Bobby Bradford, David Binney, Rova Saxophone Quartet, Jeff Parker, Art Lande, and Vinny Golia.
She can be heard on many records including Cathlene Pineda’s “A Weeks Time”(Orenda Records), The Harold Trio’s “Harold Trio” (Edgetone Records), Nick Mancini’s “The Long Game” (self-released), Alex Sadnik’s “Londelius” (Big Ego Records), Dan Rosenboom’s “Trio Subliminal” (Orenda Records), Jon Armstrong’s “Burnt Hibiscus” (Orenda Records), and her debut album featuring Art Lande and Putter Smith entitled “Left Right Left” (Orenda Records).
Dave Tranchina
Bassist, Composer, and Educator, David Tranchina is a bassist known for his big warm sound, solid groove and inventive melodic solos.
He has composed music for Jazz ensembles, chamber ensembles, and has written music for animation and documentary films including the 2013 release “A Fuller Life”. He is a founding member of the band Slumgum, and has performed with them all over the U.S.
He has also excelled as a music teacher, working with many students individually or in small group settings, as well as doing workshops with people of all ages while on tours of the country.
He currently lives in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Andrew Conrad
Andrew has lived in Los Angeles since graduating from Cal Arts in 2010, spending his time teaching, composing and playing music in a wide assortment of areas.
In 2013 he started an Improvisation class through the Harmony Project in Ventura, CA and continues to work with students throughout Southern California.
He is a co-leader of the improvisational jazz quartet Chord Four, and also plays with Orkestar Meze, Trevor Anderies Quintet, Jon Armstrong Jazz Orchestra, and Bubbeleh.
He has performed and/or composed music with Poor Dog Group, Wild Up, Angel City Jazz Festival, and Vinny Golia.
Beth Schenck
San Fransisco-based saxophonist, composer and educator Beth Schenck performs regularly in the California jazz and improvisational music scenes. Her current compositional projects include saxophone quartet Social Stutter, SIFTER, and House of Faern. Schenck’s music has been described as “frank and beautiful…reliably enthralling… and transporting” She is the director of the San Francisco Day School performing arts department, where she also teaches jazz band and jazz lab ensembles. Schenck holds a master’s of fine arts in Jazz Studies from California Institute of the Arts and a bachelor’s of fine arts in orchestral performance from Arizona State University.
