The Angel City Jazz Festival/Jazz Refractions was conceived in 2008 as a vehicle to present the best contemporary West Coast jazz, new music and beyond.
Since then it has grown into an essential multi-week celebration of creative live music from around the world, at some of the most exciting & prestigious venues in LA, such as LACMA, REDCAT at Disney Hall, the Nimoy, the World Stage, the Sierra Madre Playhouse and 2220 Arts + Archives.
As of 2026, the festival has been renamed Jazz Refractions. Jazz is the source light, and Angel City is the prism. The music featured at Jazz Refractions is rooted in the jazz tradition of radical improvisation, freedom, and technical mastery. However, once it passes through the Angel City’s lens, it bends, distorts, and shatters into entirely new forms unrestricted by musical genres.

TICKETS INFO
We use the DICE platform for all of our 2026 Jazz Refractions presale tickets.
We do not sell passes so only individual event tickets are available. Each event ticket give you access to the full program listed on the event page, which often includes two separate bands.After purchasing DICE tickets, if you prefer not to use the DICE app, you will be able to access the event by providing an ID with your name at the door as we will have a list of DICE ticket buyers' names for each event.
We will also keep a limited number of tickets at the door available for purchase via cash or credit card at the same price as the online tickets.
Discounted Student/Senior tickets require you show an ID at the door proving you're either a student or over 65 years of age.
